Welcome back to Autumn in Martin! We've caught glimpses of cool weather, the leaves are changing, and our thoughts once again move to bowls. The studio has been bustling with students this semester, and bowls are beginning to fill the shelves, table corners, and ware carts, patiently
awaiting their new homes next month. To date, we have around 700 bowls ready for this year's Empty Bowls fundraiser - almost halfway to our goal of 1,500! A few weeks ago, 7 alumni joined me in the studio for our annual Bowl-a-thon and boy did we have fun throwing, brainstorming, and laughing.
Our hope for the18th annual Martin Empty Bowls fundraiser is to once again host an in-
person event for our friends and neighbors to peruse the bowls, enjoy fellowship, and support WE CARE Ministries. Soup will not be included in this year's event and masks will be required. Bowls will also be available online for ease of pick-up and to help reduce crowding in the Student Life Center.
Bowls will be available for online purchase beginning November 13th and running through November 21st. Soup bowls are $15 and cracker bowls are $20. 100% of the proceeds benefit WE CARE Ministries's Food Pantry and support our neighbors. Any additional donations are always welcome!
Even though we aren't hosting a soup lunch this year, we are still posting recipes on our cookbook page! If you have a recipe that you would like to add - a family favorite, heartwarming chowder, soothing soup, or delicious stew - we'll happily add it to our list! Submissions can be sent through our Cookbook page.
If you have any questions about this year's event or submitting a recipe, please don't hesitate to reach out!
